Pidotimod exerts its immunomodulatory effects mainly through the following mechanisms:
Promote nonspecific immune response: Increase the phagocytic activity and chemotaxis of macrophages and neutrophils, and activate natural killer cells.
Promote specific immune response: Promote lymphocyte proliferation caused by mitogens, increase the ratio of helper T cells (CD4+) to suppressor T cells (CD8+), and increase the levels of IL-2 and IFN-γ, thereby enhancing cellular immune response.
Antiviral effect: In animal experiments, it has shown inhibitory effects on a variety of viruses, such as Menge virus, herpes simplex virus and influenza virus
