Ozagrel, an antithrombic drug, is a potent and selective TXA Synthase (thromboxane A2) inhibitor highly active in human platelets. Found to induce apoptosis in T24 and TCC-SUP bladder cancer cells. Ozagrel improved locomotor activity and coordination in ischemia-reperfusion injured mice models and has potential therapeutic usage for stroke. Reported to inhibit pulmonary thromboxane B2 delivery blocking the increase in systemic vascular resistance. Also shown to inhibit phenolase activities of mushroom tyrosinase.

Application & Funtion

Ozagrel, white powder, molecular formula: C13H12N2O2. Ozagrel can selectively inhibit thromboxane synthase, thereby inhibiting the production of thromboxane A2 and promoting the production of prostacyclin (PGI2), improve the balance between the two, and finally inhibit platelet aggregation and reduce vasospasm, improve the microcirculation and energy metabolism disorders in local ischemia of the brain.

 

A strong thromboxane synthetase inhibitor. By inhibiting thromboxane synthetase, reducing thromboxane A, (TXA2), and promoting the formation of prostacyclin (PGl2), to antagonize platelet aggregation and cerebral vasospasm, and almost no effect on other arachidic acid metabolizing enzymes such as cyclooxygenase. It is used for cerebral vasospasm after subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral ischemia accompanied by cerebral spasm and improvement of movement disorder accompanied by acute cerebral thrombosis.
