Moxidectin is a chemical substance, also known as Moxidectin, with a molecular formula of C37H53NO8.
White or off-white amorphous powder, almost insoluble in water, very soluble in ethanol (96%),
The water content is not more than 1.3%, the ignition residue is not more than 0.2%, and the content (based on anhydrous and solvent-free) is between 92.0% and 102.0%.
Moxidectin is a new type of antiparasitic drug. It is a single-component macrolide antibiotic fermented by Streptomyces. It is produced internationally by Novartis in the United States and Sankyo in Japan. It was discovered by Sankyo in 1967 when screening the fermentation broth of the microorganism Streptomyces hygroscopicus subspaureolacrimosus. Many experts and scholars have modified the structures of its many components with derivatives and chemically transformed them to obtain the product of Moxidectin. Antiparasitic drugs are widely used in basic agriculture such as animal husbandry and breeding, and the international demand for antiparasitic drugs has been growing continuously.
Compared with ivermectin (IVM) and avermectin, Moxidectin has a wider range of anthelmintic activity and long-term, safe and other characteristics. In the mid-1980s, Moxidectin began to be used as a veterinary anthelmintic. As a new generation of anthelmintic, Moxidectin can effectively kill nematodes and surface parasites, and has good safety for animals. It is superior to IVM in terms of dosage, dosage form development, drug resistance and drug distribution in the body. It is a broad-spectrum, highly effective, new macrolide anthelmintic antibiotic currently widely used in veterinary clinics.

Moxidectin, also known as moxidectin, is a macrolide antibiotic produced by the fermentation of Streptomyces. It belongs to milbemycin and is a new type of antiparasitic drug.
Anthelmintic antibiotics
The anthelmintic spectrum and anthelmintic activity of moxidectin are similar to those of ivermectin and avermectin. Moxidectin is a pour-on agent. A one-time pour-on agent can completely kill the worms of cow scabies and itch mites. It has a 100% killing effect on sucking external parasites such as blood lice and cow hide fly maggots.
The difference between moxidectin and ivermectin and avermectin is that its antibacterial and anti-insect properties are better than the former two, and it can maintain anti-insect activity for a longer time. It is very effective against nematodes in animals, and there are more than 10 kinds of efficient insect killing effects exceeding 99%. One-time medication can prevent and repeat infection for more than 28 days.
