N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a kind of organic matter, the chemical formula is C5H9NO3S, white crystalline powder, has a garlic-like smell, sour taste. It has the properties of hygroscopicity, soluble in water or ethanol, insoluble in ether . It is an N-acetylated derivative of cysteine, which contains sulfhydryl group, which can break the disulfide bond of mucin peptide bond (- Smurl S -), so that the mucin chain becomes a small molecular peptide chain and reduces the viscosity of mucin. therefore, this product is a dissolving drug of mucus phlegm, purulent sputum and respiratory tract mucus.
1. Acetylcysteine can increase the content of glutathione in the body.
2. Acetylcysteine has direct anti-peroxidative damage.
3. Acetylcysteine eye drops are available at home and abroad. In addition to human use abroad, there are also animal eye drops.
4. Acetylcysteine was initially considered ineffective due to its low oral bioavailability. After years of clinical studies, it has been shown that oral acetylcysteine is as effective as inhalation.
5. Acetylcysteine alone is used as a cream for external use, and there are currently no reports on the market at home and abroad, but acetylcysteine as a cosmetic ingredient has been studied abroad.
