Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a general term for a mixture of all stereo and positional isomers of linoleic acid. It can be regarded as a secondary derivative of linoleic acid, with a molecular formula of C17H31COOH. The double bonds of conjugated linoleic acid can be located at positions 7 and 9, 8 and 10, 9 and 11, 10 and 12, 11 and 13, 12 and 14, and each double bond has two conformations: cis (cis or c) and trans (trans or t). Theoretically, there are more than 20 isomers of conjugated linoleic acid, and c-9, t-11 and t-10, c-12 are the two isomers with the highest content. Conjugated linoleic acid is absorbed into the blood through the digestive tract in food and distributed throughout the body. After being absorbed, CLA mainly enters the structural lipids of tissues, and also enters the plasma phospholipids, cell membrane phospholipids or is metabolized in the liver to produce arachidonic acid, and then further synthesizes eicosane active substances.

Effects and precautions of conjugated linoleic acid:
1. Protects cardiovascular and cerebrovascular function: softens blood vessels, lowers blood pressure and...
2. Prevents arteriosclerosis: accelerates fat metabolism and decomposition, reduces cholesterol deposition on blood vessel walls, and increases blood vessel elasticity.
3. Increases myoglobin content: increases the ability of human cells to store and transport oxygen, making exercise training more effective and the body more energetic.
