Spirulina belongs to the phylum Cyanobacteria, family Oscillatoria, and can be divided into feed grade, food grade, and special purpose according to different uses. Feed grade spirulina powder is generally used in aquaculture and livestock farming, while food grade spirulina powder is used in health food and added to other foods for human consumption.
Spirulina powder is a powder made by grinding spirulina. It is dark green in color and feels greasy.
Spirulina powder has a certain preventive and inhibitory effect on the three highs, has a certain effect on chronic gastrointestinal diseases, gastric and duodenal ulcers, can relieve constipation and treat hemorrhoid scars, and can beautify and lose weight.

Spirulina powder is made from fresh spirulina through spray drying, sieving and sterilization. Its fineness is generally above 80 mesh. Pure spirulina powder is dark green and feels greasy. Spirulina that has not been sifted or added with other substances will feel rough.

Spirulina is a kind of lower plant belonging to the phylum Cyanobacteria and the family Oscillatoriaceae. Like bacteria, they do not have a true nucleus in their cells, so they are also called cyanobacteria. The cell structure of cyanobacteria is primitive and very simple. It is the earliest photosynthetic organism on earth and has survived on this planet for 3.5 billion years. It grows in water bodies and can be seen under a microscope in the form of spiral filaments, hence the name. The most commonly used spirulina in health food is plateau spirulina. Other spirulina include spirulina maxima and salt spirulina. The protein content of plateau spirulina is generally above 65%.
