Desmopressin Acetate can shorten or normalize the prolonged bleeding time during clinical invasive treatment or diagnostic surgery, or control the bleeding phenomenon of patients with prolonged bleeding time due to uremia, cirrhosis, congenital or drug-induced platelet dysfunction, and unknown causes. This product can be used to control or prevent bleeding during minor surgery in patients with mild hemophilia A and vascular hemophilia who have a positive test dose. In special cases, it can even be used to treat and prevent patients with moderate conditions.
Desmopressin Acetate is a synthetic hormone analog that mimics the effects of antidiuretic hormone (ADH), also known as vasopressin. It is commonly used in medical settings to manage conditions related to fluid and electrolyte balance.
Desmopressin Acetate works by increasing water reabsorption in the kidneys, reducing excessive urine production, and preventing dehydration

Central Diabetes Insipidus: Desmopressin Acetate is the treatment of choice for central diabetes insipidus, a condition where the body cannot properly regulate water balance due to a deficiency in ADH. By replacing the lacking hormone, it helps reduce excessive thirst and controls urine output.
Nocturnal Enuresis: Commonly known as bedwetting, nocturnal enuresis affects both children and adults. Desmopressin Acetate can be used to treat this condition by reducing nighttime urine production and improving bladder control.
Hemophilia A and von Willebrand Disease: Desmopressin Acetate is used to manage bleeding episodes in patients with mild to moderate forms of hemophilia A and von Willebrand disease. It stimulates the release of clotting factors, thereby promoting blood clot formation and reducing bleeding.
Postoperative Bleeding: In certain surgical procedures, Desmopressin Acetate may be administered to prevent or minimize postoperative bleeding. It can be especially beneficial for patients with an increased risk of bleeding, such as those undergoing cardiac surgery or dental procedures.
Diagnostic Tests: Desmopressin Acetate is sometimes utilized in specialized diagnostic tests to evaluate the body's ability to concentrate urine or assess blood clotting function.
Desmopressin Acetate has several beneficial effects on the body. First and foremost, it helps regulate fluid balance by reducing excessive urine production. By increasing water reabsorption in the kidneys, it allows the body to retain more water and prevent dehydration. This effect is particularly beneficial for individuals with diabetes insipidus, a condition characterized by excessive urination and thirst.
Additionally, Desmopressin Acetate has a hemostatic effect, meaning it promotes blood clotting by enhancing the release of von Willebrand factor and factor VIII from the blood vessels. This makes it useful in the treatment of bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia A and von Willebrand disease. It can effectively reduce bleeding episodes, minimize the need for blood transfusions, and improve overall quality of life for patients with these conditions.
