Trypsin is a serine protease that belongs to the digestive enzyme family. It is mainly secreted by the pancreas and plays a key role in the small intestine. It can specifically hydrolyze the carboxyl terminal peptide bonds of lysine (Lys) and arginine (Arg) in proteins, decomposing large molecular proteins into small peptides or amino acids, and promoting digestion and absorption.

Function of Trypsin:
1. Digestive function
Activates other digestive enzymes (such as chymotrypsin, carboxypeptidase, etc.) in the intestine to promote protein decomposition.
Helps decompose protein in food into absorbable small peptides and amino acids.
2. Anti-inflammatory and wound repair
Promotes the decomposition of necrotic tissue: used for debridement of burns, ulcers, trauma and other wounds to accelerate healing.
Reduces inflammatory response: decomposes inflammatory exudates (such as fibrin, pus) and reduces swelling.
3. Anti-thrombotic effect
Degrades fibrin, has a certain fibrinolytic effect, and can be used as an auxiliary treatment for thrombotic diseases (such as phlebitis).
4. Cell culture and biotechnology
Cell passage: used for digestion and separation of adherent cells (such as trypsin-EDTA digestion solution).
Protein sequencing: used for enzymatic protein hydrolysis in proteomics to facilitate mass spectrometry analysis.
Application of Trypsin
1. Medical field
Digestive aids: used for replacement therapy for patients with pancreatic insufficiency (such as chronic pancreatitis and cystic fibrosis).
Surgical debridement: used for the removal of necrotic tissue in burns, ulcers, and postoperative wounds (such as trypsin ointment and spray).
Anti-inflammatory and detumescent: used for inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and phlebitis (often used in combination with chymotrypsin).
2. Laboratory research
Cell culture: used for cell passage to detach adherent cells from the culture dish.
Protein research: used for protein enzyme digestion, Western Blot, mass spectrometry analysis and other experiments.
3. Food industry
Used for meat tenderization and the production of protein hydrolyzates (such as peptide nutritional products).
