Application & Funtion

MT is a metal-binding protein rich in cysteine. Its sulfhydryl group can strongly chelate toxic metals and excrete them from the body, thereby achieving detoxification. [4] MT is related to the metabolism of trace metals. In all mammalian tissues, MT-1 and MT-2 are expressed synergistically. MT-3 is a specific member of the brain in this family.
